Installation & Reset Guide

This protector clips onto standard 35mm DIN rails for easy mounting and removal, compatible with most control cabinets.

When tripping occurs due to overload, short circuit or phase loss, replacement is not required. Locate and clear the fault, wait for the internal bimetallic element to cool down, turn the rotary knob to OFF for reset, and switch on again after confirming no hazards remain.

During maintenance, fit an optional lock attachment to secure the knob at OFF position and prevent accidental switch-on accidents.

Q1: Is slight heating of the device normal?

A1: Mild heat under normal load is expected during operation. If it becomes unusually hot, check for loose terminal connections, excessive load current, and whether the setting matches the motor rated current to troubleshoot potential risks in a timely manner.

Q2: Why can't the MS116-2.5 be closed after tripping?

A2: In most cases, the fault has not been removed or internal components have not cooled down for reset. Inspect for motor short circuits, overloads or phase loss. Power off and leave it to cool, turn the knob back to OFF to reset, then close it only after all faults are cleared.

Q3: Does the MS116-2.5 need to be used with a thermal relay?

A3: No. Equipped with thermal-magnetic trip, it integrates overload, short-circuit and phase loss protection as well as disconnection function. One unit delivers full protection and control for miniature motors. Thermal relays and fuses are no longer required, simplifying the electrical control circuit.
