Installation & Wiring Notes (400V Class Specific)
400V servo drives have stricter requirements for power distribution and wiring. Please note:
1.Power Wiring: Confirm 3-phase 3-wire or 3-phase 4-wire supply. Do not mix live and neutral wires. Ensure solid earthing with ground resistance ≤4Ω.
2.Wire Gauge: Select cables based on wiring length. Use one size thicker cable for long runs to reduce voltage drop.
3.EMC: Separate power cables and signal cables with ≥20cm clearance. Cross perpendicularly when necessary. Ground cable shields at both ends.
4.Phase Balance: Keep 3-phase voltage unbalance ≤5% to avoid alarms caused by missing phase or severe voltage imbalance.
5.Heat Dissipation: Reserve ≥50mm clearance above and below the drive. Cabinet temperature should not exceed 50℃. Keep away from heat-generating components.

A1: Yes. According to Rockwell Automation user manuals, Studio 5000 Logix Designer V33.00 or later is required to configure 2198-Cxxxx-ERS drives.

A2: The Kinetix 5300 series comes with hardware Safe Torque Off (STO).
Q3: Is the 2198-C4004-ERS the same as 2198-C1004-ERS?
A3: No. Both belong to the Kinetix 5300 family, but the 2198-C4004-ERS is 400V Class while the 2198-C1004-ERS is 200V Class. They require different input power supplies.
