Q1: What is the difference between EL2202 and EL2202-0100?
A1: The hardware is exactly the same. The only difference is the factory setting for distributed clocks. The standard EL2202 does not have this function enabled by default and needs to be configured in TwinCAT. The -0100 version comes with it permanently enabled out of the box, so you can use synchronization directly without any setup. If your application requires precise synchronization, the -0100 version is the better choice.
Q2: Can it directly drive solenoid valves?
A2: Yes, it can easily drive standard small solenoid valves. Each channel supports up to 0.5 A, which is enough for most applications. For larger high-power valves, you can simply use an intermediate relay, which is also very straightforward.
Q3: Does EL2202 require field-side power supply?
A3: No. The module adopts passive contact output. The power supply for loads is provided independently by external sources, and the module only needs power from the E-bus to operate.
